Open Colleges Course in Animal Care – On-line

This class will teach you a lot about how to handle your animal and maybe develop into the beginning of a career. While not particularly holistic, the animal anatomy would be fabulous to know,  I have not reviewed the materials completely, so cannot say what they teach for nutrition, for instance. Does it go along with local, fresh home prepared? Because they teach vaccines, I suspect you will need to be very critical in that area. A few things may be more Australian oriented as they have an entire section on Infectious Hepatitis, something we rarely see in the US. My readers from other areas may need that, but again not sure they teach any holistic approaches. Grooming, manicuring, bathing and bandaging would be excellent to be sure you can completely handle your pets in any circumstances, but again exercise caution on the products and foods.

This is a very in depth class that offers a lot of benefits.

The Certificate in Animal Care has been specially custom designed for pet owners and it will teach you all the things you need to know about how to properly care for your, or others’ pets and animals.

This course teaches you all the things you wish you knew about your pet – how to administer first aid, correct nutrition, health and identifying disease. You’ll also get heaps of included learning materials and access to Open Space, the online learning community portal, so you can share your learning with other pet lovers online.

This course could even be a stepping stone to a career in the pet care industry, or towards other Animal Care courses available through Open Colleges. The course even covers information on shelters and animal shows as well as grooming and bathing, with a focus on cats and dogs.
