Just finished a must read book. Beautiful Jim Key – the Lost History of a horse and a man who changed the World by Mim Eichler Rivas. I cannot believe I never heard of this horse. At the turn of the century his “sentience” empowered millions of school children and adults to begin treating animals humanely and for laws to be passed and humane organizations to be better funded. And his teacher, William Key, was a man way ahead of his time.
