To begin, I want to say how blessed I am to be in a profession that helps people and animals be healthy and happy. You, my clients and students, are so passionate about the health of your companions that I am constantly inspired. I am passionate about living and supporting people and their animals. I want to let everyone know now about the holistic paradigm and all the healing options that are available.
I am an internationally known homeopathic veterinarian, lecturer and author of the Healthy Animal’s Journal. Graduating from the University of Georgia Veterinary College in 1980, I began using homeopathy in my veterinary practice in 1983. I had been helping in veterinary clinics since I was 11 and knew virtually nothing about holistic approaches. Then a client introduced me to the true paradigm of the holistic approach which includes all methods of treatment. I do telephone consulting to help your animals become and stay healthy, working with a team of healers using different modalities. My clients appreciate the education on holistic thinking that I offer along with treatment.
Teaching these principles to animal guardians and encouraging veterinarians to begin using homeopathy and other holistic modalities became my passion. Dr. Richard Pitcairn, myself and Dr. Jana Rygas worked together to found the Academy Of Veterinary Homeopathy in 1995. From 1990 through 2003 I was on the faculty of theNationalCenter for Homeopathy’s Summer School until they discontinued the Summer School. The wonderful head of the Maryland Veterinary Technician Program, Jack Stewart, hired me as a holistic modality adjunct faculty liaison and instructor beginning in 2004 . Also starting in 2004 I taught as part of the the Prince George’s Feral Friends summer school, teaching Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced homeopathy classes.
Wherever people want me to speak, I do. I lecture on a wide array of topics including integrating holistic options into veterinary practices, selecting the best approaches to heal animals, ones that will also sustain the planet. Some of the wonderful venues for speaking have included the World Small Animal Veterinary Conference, American Veterinary Medical Association, Atlantic Coast Veterinary Conference, North American Veterinary Conference, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, World of Pets Expo every January, Groom Expo, American Boarding Kennel Association, breed shows, health food stores, and more. I had the joy to work with Karen Allen to co-author of the Homeopathic Repertory: A Tutorial and with my husband, Mort Orman for How to Have a Stress Free Wedding (Eliminate your stress by discovering the Hidden Causes at his web site, www.DocOrman.com). I love my daughter Tracie who is a wonderful woman.
